If you are the owner of a 2004-2008 Prius, we congratulate you on taking personal responsibility for the stewardship of our planet! What you have done is wonderful! Now for the next step. Let us start by informing you that the Prius you have purchased is different from the other Priuses in our world. Your Prius makes very little use of the technology it was developed with. We would like to help you correct this. We are here to help you get more from your wonderful 2004 - 2008 Prius!

Electric Vehicle Switch

Every Toyota Prius that rolls off of the assembly line has the programming built into the computer to enable "EV" ("electric vehicle") Mode/Stealth Mode. EV Mode tells the computer controlling the Prius to turn off the gas engine and use only its batteries.

The Priuses that we buy in the United States and Canada are missing the button on the dashboard to initiate EV Mode. Once you have one you’ve joined the rest of the Prius owning world and can initiate EV Mode by pulling the cruise control stalk (the EV Switch we use) . This feature is used around the world to quietly leave your house in the morning, drive to your favorite neighborhood stores, and get better mileage, by using the battery instead of the gas engine.

Our Solution

     We want to help make our world a little greener, a little cleaner, and help you get more mileage out of your 2004 - 2008 Prius (about 5 to 7 more miles to the gallon). For $250 (tax included), we will drive to anywhere in the Seattle area and upgrade your Prius for you. We can do it in about 30 minutes. We will then test drive your Prius with you and show you how to operate the EV switch plus give you other helpful tips for getting the most mileage out of your car. Notes: You get to choose the installation location, but you also incur any additional costs that might come with the location you choose. As an example, you will have to pay for our parking if you decide to have this installation done during your lunch hour in downtown Seattle. We are happy to make this installation as convenient for you as possible.

What about my Warranty?

     We have contacted Toyota directly and they have a pretty canned stance. They do not warranty any third party modifications to any of their cars. O.K., neither does anyone else. At Europrius we aren't changing the engine design or modifying the system. We are simply putting back in the EV Switch that gets taken out for the North American market. Thousands of these switches have been installed and we have never heard of a Warranty issue. Don't take our word for it, go up on the internet and try to find something. We personally have our Prius serviced at Michael's Toyota of Bellevue, and no one there has ever complained.

Will the batteries wear out faster?

     The batteries will wear out at the same rate as they do in the rest of the world. We would tell you how long that is, but very few batteries have ever been replaced. Try the internet again.

Tours: We visit San Diego and Victoria/Vancouver Canada regularly. If you live in either of these areas, we can work something out. If for any reason you have a lot of friends (5 to 10) or you want to cover our travel costs, we will travel to help you out. We love doing these installations. We can't fix the planet ourselves, but this is something we can do.

     Do you get annoyed by the, "I Agree", screen? Don't you wish your passenger could enter in destinations, perform map scrolling, and enter Bluetooth phone numbers while your car was moving? Would you like to see FX Text Messages and play factory DVD players? Well, we can help you out with all of these upgrades to improve the usability of your vehicle.

     The cost to you is $500 (tax included) unless of course you have a Prius and are also having the EV Switch installed. In that case the additional cost for this feature is only $400.

Get the most out of your Prius!

Owners manuals can be confusing and some people just learn easier when someone takes the time to show them how to do something. We charge $100/hr with a $200 minimum and bill in 15 minute increments. What normally happens, is that you have us over to install an EV Switch, and at the same time you decide to have your Bluetooth connected or you just have some questions not related to the EV switch (like how to get that annoying beeping to stop when you shift into reverse). The cost to you is just the 15 minute increment, because you have already met your minimum by have the EV switch installed.


Payment!

     The only payment we accept at this time is cash (unless you are using a company check) and payment is required before the installation(s) begins. We want you to be happy with the installation and operation of your new options. We will demonstrate how each new option works and we are available to answer any questions you might have via email. We understand that sometimes you forget something. No problem, we are happy to help.
