EUROPRIUS

Prius

Welcome to Europrius.  We are here to help you get the most from your wonderful 2004 - 2008 Prius.  Want to get better mileage?  We can help.  Your dealership can't get your bluetooth to work?  We probably can.  Confused about how to setup speed dialing, use your navigation, etc?  We can show you how.  Want to get rid of that annoying startup screen, let passengers enter destinations while you drive, integrate your ipod, zune, let you watch movies and more?  We can upgrade your system.  Why can't you get these upgrades from your Toyota Dealer?  We believe that they just don't have the trained personnel available or you could.  We like Toyota.  They gave us the Prius.

Electric Vehicle Switch

Every Toyota Prius that rolls off of the assembly line has the programming built into the computer to enable "EV" ("electric vehicle") Mode. EV Mode tells the computer controlling the Prius to turn off the gas engine and use only its batteries until one of the following things happens:

     1) The batteries get too discharged (down to 2 bars on the Prius' Engergy display)

     2)  The vehicle speed hits 34mph.

     3)  The driver asks for a lot of power (Example: climbing a hill )

When one of the above conditions is met, the gasoline engine will turn on and the Prius will be out of EV Mode and back into its normal driving mode.

Because of reasons no one quite understands, the Priuses that we buy in North America are missing the button on the dashboard to initiate EV Mode. The computer knows what EV mode is and what it’s supposed to do when it’s in EV Mode — it’s just that there’s no way to tell it that you want it to engage EV Mode, unless you have an EV Switch. Once you have one you’ve joined the rest of the Prius-owning world and can initiate EV Mode by pulling the cruise control stalk (the EV Switch we use) towards you for 2 seconds. You’ll stay in EV mode until you disengage it (pull the cruise control stalk for 2 seconds again), until you meet one of the conditions mentioned above, or until you turn the car off.  This feature is used around the world to quietly leave your house in the morning, drive to neighborhood stores, and get better mileage, by using the battery instead of the gas engine.

Our Solution

We want to help make our world a little greener, a little cleaner, and help you get more mileage out of your 2004 - 2008 Prius (about 5 to 7 more miles to the gallon).  For $250 (tax included), we will drive to anywhere in the Seattle area and upgrade your Prius for you.  We can do it in about 30 minutes.  We will then test drive your Prius with you and show you how to operate the EV switch plus give you other tips for getting the most mileage out of your car.  If that sounds good to you, then just give us a call at 425.260.2014 to set up a convenient appointment or email us at: dana@danakohut.com if you have a question.

Notes:  You get to choose the installation location, but you also incur any additional costs that might come with the location you choose.  As an example, you will have to pay for our parking if you decide to have this installation done during your lunch hour in downtown Seattle.  We are happy to make this installation as convenient for you as possible.

Unlock all the hidden features of your navigation screen! (Available for 2006-2008 Priuses, 2007-2008 Lexus GX, and RX vehicles)

Do you get annoyed by the, "I Agree", screen?  Don't you wish your passenger could enter in destinations, perform map scrolling, and enter bluetooth phone numbers while your car was moving?  Would you like to see FX Text Messages and play factory DVD players?  Well, we can help you out with all of these upgrades to improve the usability of your vehicle.

The cost to you is $500 (tax included) unless of course you have a Prius and are also having the EV Switch installed.  In that case the additional cost for this feature is only $400.   Once again we will drive to anywhere in the Seattle area and upgrade your vehicle for you.  We can do it in about 30 minutes.  We will then test drive your vehicle with you and show you how to operate your new upgrades.  If that sounds good to you, then just give us a call at 425.260.2014 to set up a convenient appointment or email us at: dana@danakohut.com if you have a question.

Get the most out of your Prius!

Owners manuals can be confusing and some people just learn easier when someone takes the time to show them how to do something.  We charge $100/hr with a $200 minimum  and bill in 15 minute increments.  What normally happens, is that you have us over to install an EV Switch, and at the same time you decide to have your bluetooth connected or you just have some questions not related to the EV switch.  The cost to you is just the 15 minute increment, because you have already met your minimum by have the EV switch installed.

Have other Prius friends, family, or maybe you own more than one, then consider doing multiple installations at the same time and save money.  As an example, the first EV Switch is $250.  Additional EV Switches are only $150 each.  A savings to you of $100.  Does your company have a Prius Fleet?  If we can install more than 4 at a time, then the cost is only $125 each.

Payment!

The only payment we accept at this time is cash (unless you are using a company check) and payment is required before the installation(s) begins.  We want you to be happy with the installation and operation of your new options.  We will demonstrate how each new option works and are available to answer any questions you might have via email.  We understand that sometimes you forget something.  No problem, we are happy to help.
